About Me

Hi, my name is Luke McKendry, and I’m a 16-year-old from Manhattan Beach, California. In October 2023, my life changed when I experienced my first seizure during a school day and was diagnosed with Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy. Since then, I’ve had to adapt to new challenges, like not being able to drive after my seizures, avoiding staying up late, and managing schoolwork while coping with occasional fatigue. Despite these obstacles, I remain dedicated to the things I love—playing basketball, excelling in school, and spending time with friends. These activities keep me grounded and remind me of what’s important. I’m also passionate about helping others with epilepsy by raising awareness and offering support to those facing similar challenges. Through sharing my journey, I hope to inspire others to overcome obstacles, embrace their potential, and find joy in the things that make life meaningful.
